Can I pick my own domain name?

Through our Register Domain area within Builder Bulldog, you will be able to check the availability of your chosen domain name, and if available register it for your choice of 1, 2, or 3 years at a time.

Does my domain name have to be a ".com"?

While .com is the most commonly used domain extension, when registering a domain you can choose from several other options: .com, .net, .org, .biz or .info.

Can I transfer a domain name I have already reserved?

If you have previously reserved a domain on another service, such as godaddy.com, you can transfer that domain to Builder Bulldog and have it directed to your website.

Does Builder Bulldog take a percentage of each sale?

No! You earned the money - you keep it. Unlike other services, Builder Bulldog does not charge any fees per transaction. The use of merchant accounts and/or Paypal will result in their applicable fees, however.

How do themes work?

Within Builder Bulldog's Site, Look, and Feel section, you have the ability to choose a theme for your website's visual design.  Choose from hundreds of options in easy to use dropdown boxes.  See a sample of each design to make the decision quick and easy. Apply it to your website with just a simple mouse click.

How do content pages work?

Within Builder Bulldog's Edit Web Pages section, you will have the ability to create pages from scratch.  Choose the name and titles of your pages, add meta tags for search engine optimization, and construct the layout and content to be displayed on the page.   Easy to follow, step by step instructions make this process a breeze.

How do images work?

Adding images to your site is easy with our editing tools.  Choose the alignment of the images, make them links, and add visual appeal to your pages.  Images are hosted on our server making it easy for you to edit and modify the images displayed on your site.

How do product options work?

Add options to products being sold in your website store.  Easily add options for different sizes, colors, etc that your products are available in.  Options also available for different price points (ex: S,M, L sizes are $5 and XL, XXL sizes are $7)

Can I sell digital products?

You’re free to sell digital products, but Builder Bulldog doesn’t currently offer automated digital delivery, so you would need to manually send each product. However, digital delivery is something we are looking to add in the future.

What kind of PayPal account do I need?

To accept payments on your Builder Bulldog site, you need a PayPal Business or Premier account.

Why is there a limit of 500 products?

Having more products takes up more storage space on our server.  While 500 products is a lot, if you feel you need the ability to offer more, an upgrade to your monthly fee is needed.  An extra $5 per month will give you the ability to have an additional 500 product, bringing your total product limit to 1000.

Is having a Builder Bulldog website like owning an eBay store?

Nope. Your website is your own piece of the worldwide web completely separate from eBay altogether, where you and your products are the center of attention. You won't be lost in the crowd.

Who handles fulfillment on the products I sell?

Builder Bulldog provides you with all the tools you need to create an awesome website, but getting products to sell, and orders fulfilled is up to you.

Do my customers need a PayPal account?

Nope! Your customers are not required to have a PayPal account to purchase from your Builder Bulldog site. They can pay using only a credit card if they choose. This is a feature available to Premier and Business PayPal accounts.

Why don’t I see the credit card option when using the PayPal payment method?

If you don’t see an option to pay with a credit card on the PayPal checkout screen, this is likely because you have it disabled in your PayPal profile, or because PayPal has set a cookie on your computer that remembers you’ve used a PayPal account in the past. To see the option you can remove all cookies from PayPal.com.

Can I upgrade or cancel my account at any time?

Of course. Any time you want more from your Builder Bulldog site, you can change plans by contacting our sales team.  When you cancel your subscription with Builder Bulldog, your access to the site becomes disabled.   You can re-activate your account at any time for the same monthly fee you agreed upon initially.  Charges are based on a monthly basis.  No partial/pro-rated refunds are given.

Can you help me with my design?

The Builder Bulldog system and resource center lessons wording make it easy for you to change colors, fonts, main graphics, and choose which modules to show. However, sometimes you may want to dig into the code yourself and do something a bit more customized.

Once you start customizing your CSS and HTML so that it’s different from the defaults that we’ve created and tested, it’s up to you to maintain it. We cannot provide support on all the custom design changes you make.

Can I add links to different pages within my site?

Adding links between pages within your site, or even links to other websites on the internet is easily accomplished within your Builder Bulldog site.  There are step by step instructions on how to add not only text links, but image links as well, in Resources section within the Builder.

How does sales tax work for items I sell?

You have three options for your product’s tax:

  • Don’t charge tax - Select this option if you don’t want any tax charged for this product.
  • Use your PayPal tax settings - PayPal gives you the ability to add a sales tax rate for a particular region (state or country) that will be automatically applied to your product upon checkout. You can manage your PayPal tax settings on the Sales Tax page in your PayPal Profile.
  • Charge tax - You have the ability to choose your state from a dropdown list within your Store Settings.  You can also set the sales tax percentage to be charged in this area.

How does the checkout process work?

After your customers have added your products to their cart, and they click “Checkout”, here’s what happens:

  1. Builder Bulldog sends all order info to PayPal where your customer pays with a credit card or with their PayPal account.
  2. Your customer is taken back to your store and a message is displayed thanking them for their order.
  3. You receive an email from PayPal telling you who bought something, what they’ve bought, and how much they’ve paid you.
